The Census

Not specifically a Nottingham issue, but relevant to people all over the country, is the upcoming UK government census. Aside from all of the usual arguments against state intelligence gathering, this time the census is being administered by US arms dealers Lockheed-Martin. This is a repost of some information that might be useful to those considering non-participation.

Tuesday March 8th 2011 was the centenary of International Women's Day. To mark this anniversary, Notts TUC organised a public meeting at the offices of Thompsons Solicitors, to discuss the impact of the cuts on services for women, particularly domestic violence services.

Nottingham City Council are planning to cut tens of millions from their spending in the year from April 2011. They will meet to set this budget on Monday March 7th. Notts Save Our Services (SOS) are calling on them not to adopt their cuts budget.
