Pickets had been out across Nottingham and Trent Universities from 7.00am onwards.

Having cycled around various Trent locations, I have to say that students and staff largely ignored the call and so much of the university appeared to me to operating normally.

Shoplifting: a growing problem?

Shoplifting is an under-reported crime, costing UK retailers £2.2 million every yea.  This week the Evening Post reported on the troubling exponential rise of shoplifting offences in Nottingham. However, the more worrying statistic than the 25% escalation in crimes from April to August, was the mere 58.8% police detection rate.

Secret Kitchen Cafe has moved!

The secret kitchen cafe offers a healthy meal in good company, for whatever donation people can afford. The cafe has moved venue to St Christopher's Church Hall on Trent Road in Sneinton. It has landed right in the middle of Sneinton so please pop by for some delicious food!

During the two week City half-term holiday we are open as a LUNCH CLUB from midday to 1.30pm.

As part of the protests against DSEI in London a number of use managed to get a one night booking at the Novotel which is inside in the security barrier and was a popular hotel with arms dealers.  We had planned to leave leaflets and stickers inside the hotel and perhaps even have some fun sending a few of them in the wrong direction :-)

Vegan Festival at Nottingham Green Festival
