It's full steam ahead for Nottingham's all-vegan and volunteer-led catering campaign Veggies as their 2014 tour is in full swing, with more events being added all the time. Most recently they have taken part in Leicester's annual environmental event, the Greenlight Festival, and also travelled down to Milton Keynes to bring vegan food to activists taking part in an anti-vivisection demo.

Last night there was a public meeting at the Maze to discuss the prospect of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, coming to Nottinghamshire. There was a very informative presentation given by a member of Friends of the Earth Nottingham and then there was a passionate debate about what could be done to stop fracking here in Notts. See below the fold for a rundown on the current situation.

Former Nottingham resident Wietse Van Der Werf, co-founder of 'The Black Fish', visited Nottingham tell us more about the threats facing the world's oceans and inspire us to join the growing movement of people taking action for its conservation.
