We are delighted to announce a series of events in the next couple of months celebrating: 150 - THE LENTON SESQUICENTENNIAL

The 30th May 1863 saw the opening of the first co-operative society in Nottingham set up on the principles of the Rochdale Pioneers.
We will be celebrating the past, present and future of co-operatives and their members' work, ideas and ideals with a series of events in June and July 2013.
These include a film screening, a historical walk and the publication of an exciting new book, adding new and fascinating facets to the rich and turbulent history of the people of Nottingham.

On Sunday 29th May, Nottingham Radical History Group (People's Histreh) organised a second Reform Riots walk, retracing the riots which followed the defeat of the Second Reform Bill in the House of Lords in October 1831.

March 8th 2011 was the centenary of International Women's Day. In Nottingham a range of events were held to mark this anniversary, among them a women's history walk organised by the Nottingham Women's History Group.

On Sunday July 25th, People's Histreh and The Sparrows' Nest organised a showing of Ken Loach's Land and Freedom at the Broadway Cinema. The event forms part of a series of events in Nottingham commemorating the Spanish Civil War.

On Saturday July 17th Nottingham and Mansfield Trades Council organised a re-dedication of the memorial to the International Brigades at County Hall, West Bridgford.

On Sunday 25th July at 2.15pm Ken Loach's epic on the Spanish Civil War and social revolution ‘Land and Freedom' will be shown at the Broadway Cinema.
