Straw Bale work on eco-building in St.Anns Part 33

Work has been continuing at EcoWorks with the Straw Bale building in Nottingham. The building, now being fully enclosed with the main doors having being constructed and fitted All window frames fitted last year. Earlier this year, guttering and assorted woodwork has been completed.

Pleasley Hill People's Network is a group set up near Mansfield, in Nottinghamshire, which aims to build organisation and political involvement in a small area of this former mining community.

More mental health day centres to be cut

Notts County Council are planning to close three day centres for mental health service users. The Middle Street centre in Beeston, Rokerfield Centre in Sutton and Boundary Centre in Worksop could be closed. This is another kick in the teeth for some of the most excluded people in society who the council clearly think they can neglect with impunity.

On Tuesday June 22nd, ConDem Chancellor George Osborne revealed the contents of the “emergency budget.” As expected, this included a pay freeze for public sector workers (except the lowest paid) along with cuts in housing benefit and an increase in VAT. Trade unionists and others demonstrated outside the Council House.
