A couple of us went to one of the meetings regarding the demolition of Lenton Flats yesterday. It was the third of three meetings held during the day by NCH and the two local councillors Susan Piper and David Trimble. The earlier meeting had been targeted at Lenton, Digby and Abbey court residents whilst the one we attended was for Wiloughby and Newgate residents. We met up with the resident…

On Saturday March 10th, constituents of Anna Soubry's Broxtowe constituency displayed postcards signed by over 500 people asking her to reconsider plans to privatise the NHS.
They gathered outside Beeston Library where Anna Soubry was meant to be holding a surgery. Unfortunately when Ms Soubry heard of this she changed the location of her surgery.

EDL Nottingham thug, Eddie Stobart lorry driver Brendan Moran, is one of the rabble rousers of the Notts branch of the fascist group. He regularly pubishes extreme posts of racism online, thinking he can get away with it. Now he has taken to posting death threats against leftwing politicians, a typical action against democracy from a far right group which pretends it supports free speech.

On Monday 5th March, Nottingham City Council met to set its budget for 2012-13. Following the pattern set last year, the council has decided to moan about how nasty central government cuts are but pass them onto the people of Nottingham anyway. Angered by their spinelessness, Notts SOS and Nottingham City Unison held a protest in the Market Square from 12.30pm.

Occupy Nottingham were served yesterday with notice to leave within 7 days, before eviction papers are served by the council.
There is no valid need nor reason at all for the council to evict Occupy Notingham, a deal had been mutually agreed upon provisionally by representatives of both parties, & actions were being taken to set it that in motion & to show good faith.
