On Monday 5th March, city councillors in Nottingham met to vote through a budget which will cut £20m and 195 jobs while upping council tax by 3.49%. Campaigners protested outside the meeting at both lunchtime and in the early evening.

On Thursday 23rd February, Nottinghamshire County Council met to debate and vote on its budget for 2012-13. Following from previous years, this will see millions slashed from the budget and further job cuts.
The council meeting began at 10am, while the protest kicked-off at 12.30pm.

On Saturday February 4th the EDL descended on Leicester. The EDL previously visited Leicester in October 2010. This time round, they weren't able to turnout as many supporters, but once again there was a mobilisation of anti-fascists, while local youth organised to defend their own communities.

On Friday 3rd February, campaigners returned to Atos Healthcare's offices on Stoney Street in the Lace Market, Notttingham.
This was the first protest there since a demonstration on September 30th last year, part of a national day of action, which ended with two of the participants being arrested, and subsequently charged, with aggravated trespass.

On Sunday 22nd January, Occupy Nottingham marked it's 100th day in occupation. The camp, part of a global network of occupations, was started on October 15th. Despite the harsh weather, campers remain committed to staying "as long as it takes".

Nottingham City Council has announced its proposals for the 2012-13 budget, these include extensive cuts to jobs and services as well as a council tax hike. On Monday 21st November, Lewis Stainer, a student photographer covering the occupation in Market Square, witnessed the arrest of someone from the camp. He attempted to video the arrest and was promptly intimidated into handing over the video tape. After pressure from the National Union of Journalists and extensive publicity Notts Police agreed to hand back the video footage.

On November 30th, an array of public sector unions will strike together against government attacks on their pensions. In Nottingham there will be pickets across the city, a march and rally, a critical mass bike ride and, in the evening, a meeting opposing cuts at the BBC.

An occupied autonomous space has been opened in Nottingham. The free space, at the former Conservative Social Club on Church Street in Lenton, is intended as a space to plan and discuss ways of supporting the strike on November 30th, as well as the wider anti-cuts campaign and other movements for radical social change.
