4 April 2013 Last updated at 15:11Help

There are fears the recent flooding of the Wilwell Farm Cutting nature reserve in Nottinghamshire has been caused by nearby tram construction work.

The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust believes the extension work has altered the site's draining and say both wildlife and plants have suffered.

Notts Black Arrow: Mainstream Media’s March Massing (in Nottingham)

What is it about the national press and Nottingham at the moment? Seems like we are fast becoming a barometer of England’s economic woes and hopes.

Firstly, on March 20th, Dragons’ Den presenter Evan Davis stitches together a ‘Budget Special’ for his day job, the Radio 4 Today Programme. He makes a few 10 mins trips in and out from the BBC roundabout presumably after a night at Jurys Inn on L…

NCCLOLs: Bedroom Tax - Some thoughts

I went to Nottingham's 'Bedroom Tax' demo last week. Saw the odd NCC councillor and apparently at least one MP popped in too.

You might also be aware that NCC has launched it's own petition against it too and, despite the fact that they deserve a long list of "Where were you when...?" questions, I would urge you to sign it.

It's not hard to see NCC's self interest in challenging the bedroom tax…

Has the Sumac been 'non-intentionally' hijacked?

Sumac-thumb

In the last few years a number of activists/idealists have effectively ‘taken over’ the day to day running of various groups and activities at the forest fields social club, AKA Sumac Centre, a very well established hub of community, grass routes organizing with links around the country to long and well fought campaigns, including climate camps and animal lib projects, vegan campaigns, etc.
