Hi! You are invited to come along to an Open Space discussion at the Sumac
Centre.
What is an Open Space?
This is, first of all, a good question ...
Open Space is what we make of it. It´s a space where we try to eliminate
any boundaries that might prevent someone from taking part in the space
and shaping it. Ideally, discussions, friendships, exchanges, connections
and inspiration happen organically in an Open Space. There are no
facilitators, no expectations, no rigid schedules ...
What do we want to talk about?
We are interested in discovering our personal political standpoints and
sharing them with others. We are interested in your stories and beliefs,
and in particular we are interested in anarchist ideas and practice. To
explore all this we will settle down in the Sumac for one day on the 30th
of march from 11am to 6pm ...
... and we will transform the Sumac completely!
There will be discussion spaces, a story-telling circle, a reading corner,
tea ´n snack spot, info-point and temporary conversation spaces on
different topics. You can drop in, hang out, come and go whenever it
pleases you. You can take space and make space by suggesting activities
and conversation topics and join or leave a discussion whenever you like.
There will be a few activities happening that we have planned in advance:
a spectrum line discussion, a chat about autonomous spaces, a (her)story
of anarchism and a Sumac story space. The rest is up to you...
We hope that you are curious now what all this Open Space talk is about.
For us it is an opportunity to open up conversations about our political
beliefs, to share what inspires us and motivates us and to learn from each
other. And just in case you needed any other reason: lunch will be served
at 1pm :-)
