For 6 years, from 2005 – 2009, Veggies and other vegan campaigners helped organise the East Midlands' Vegan Festival which welcomed over 2000 members of the public each year to the Council House on Nottingham’s Old Market Square.

Yesterday a dozen Derby campaigners (and one activist dog!) took part in peaceful demonstrations outside of betting shops in Derby city centre to raise awareness about the danger to horses lives in the Grand National, and what happens in the wider horse and greyhound racing industries. They were out campaigning from 11am until after the race started at 4:15pm.

The IF campaign has decided it can most effectively fight world hunger by making cute little paper boxes. They believe (or so they make out) that this sort of crafting will persuade George Osborne to be nice and not spend aid money on shooting africans.
