Nottingham Post: Plans to build incinerator in Rainworth rejected

Campaigners from People Against Incineration were celebrating after rejection of plans for an incinerator on the site of Rufford Colliery. Notts County Council's planning inspector recommended planning permission be refused for Veolia's plans to build an incinerator. Harm to local birdlife was cited as a reason.

The Council have a £850m PFI contract with Veolia involving the building of incinerators.
