Veggies Catering Campaign
Animal Aid Friend or Food Tour extended.
As reported at http://nottingham.tachanka.org/articles/636 Animal Aid's Friend or Food tour features a Veggies Catering Campaign stall, decorated as a spoof organic and free-range dog meat catering trailer.
After visiting 12 cities from Norwich to Cardiff and Southampton to Glasgow, the trailer returned to its home base with Veggies on November 15th.
The tour has been immediately extended under Veggies care to Derby (Nov 16th), Nottingham Market Square (11am Nov 17th), Sheffield (Nov 24th) & Leicester (TBA).
In Derby, finding the Market Place a little quiet, the trailer (st)rolled around to the main shopping streets, pitching up in front of our favourite fast food restaurant, where the spoof dog burger fliers were exchanged for McD's spoof environmental policy fliers.
Once again the stall received mixed reactions: some believed what they saw and were either appalled or hungry for a sample, many found it difficult to understand why anyone would want to eat dog "but they are pets, not food", thereby exactly expressing the whole point of the campaign - all animals suffer equally and hence deserve equal consideration; meat eaters should therefore be willing to die on dog as an ethical alternative to pigs, chickens and calves, especially as dogs are often treated with far more care and consideration that other animals.

Tasty Treats
What a good idea. After all, dogs are eaten in many countries, e.g. China. I understand they are very tasty and would like to sample some of the products from this new enterprise. How about calling it "Doggies"? Catching dogs on the loose and eating them would have the environmental bonus of reducing the amount of disgusting dogshit on our streets and playgrounds.
