Fluoridation for the East Midlands?
Tagged as: drugs/pharmaceuticals freedom-of-choice healthNeighbourhoods: east midlands
NHS Nottingham City has been coordinating a feasibility study over the past few months on behalf of the 9 PCTs in the area in order to determine whether or not it's financially viable and operationally feasible to introduce fluoridation throughout the East Midlands.
On 10th August 2010, East Midlands Against Fluoridation learned that the feasibility study is nearing completion and publication.
NHS Nottingham City has been coordinating the feasibility study, no doubt encouraged by the Dental Division at the Department of Health, the British Dental Association, the British Fluoridation Society, the National Fluoride Information Centre, East Midlands Strategic Health Authority and the PCTs in the East Midlands area,

East Midlands Against Fluoridation
Fluoride is added to our drinking water because the Department of Health believes that it prevents tooth decay. However, the opposite viewpoint, which is promoted in this leaflet, is that it causes damage to teeth and to health.
Opposition to water fluoridation is supported by the Medicines Directive 2004 and a supporting European Court of Justice 2005 ruling.*
All we need now is determination to get this illegal medicine out of our drinking water.
Please visit our sister-organisation's website at http://www.wmaf.org.uk for much more information, for links to International and UK websites, fact-sheets, other references substantiating the facts in this leaflet, links to anti-fluoridation groups and discussions on associated topics.
What you can do
* Get informed. For references, see the West Midlands Against Fluoridation website, http://www.wmaf.org.uk/
• Help form a local anti-fluoridation group.
• Record local newspaper items and bookmark sites which display the minutes of PCT and SHA meetings and notify EMAF or WMAF (emaf@hotmail.co.uk and wmaf@live.co.uk) if there is any mention of water fluoridation, salt fluoridation or milk fluoridation;
* Print and distribute the flier from http://wmaf.org.uk/system_locate.php?content=content&read=46&parent=46

Cumulative environmental toxins
You might want to push the Science of accumulated environmental toxins. They always push the low levels of Fluoride used. But we are all subjected to various toxic sources such as car exhaust pollution, pesticides and chemicals in food. These can all combine to the point of pushing the body into toxic overload therefore causing serious disease. So any extra toxin in any low amount, from anywhere is bad.
Important campaign, this toxin also accumaltes in pineal gland which regulates emotions, sleeping patterns&
the onset of puberty, not many tests have been done, but it has been shown in tests to increase the onset of puberty.

Derrick Jensen on fluoride
Excerpt from Endgame (http://www.endgamethebook.org/Excerpts/22%20-%20Violence%20pt3.html)
"As is true for DU [depleted uranium], fluoride is a toxic byproduct of this way of living (in this case the production of aluminum, fertilizer, cement, and weapons-grade plutonium and uranium). Also as is true for DU, fluoride is extremely costly—if not impossible—to dispose of safely. The feds didn’t know what to do with it. Perhaps because fluoride didn’t work very well either in artillery shells or toaster ovens, those in power decided to get rid of it by adding it to our municipal water supplies and toothpaste, which means that the old John Birchers were right when they averred that fluoridation was a dangerous plot (“to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids,” as General Jack D. Ripper might have put it): they just had the wrong conspirators. Another similarity between fluoride and DU is that both are dangerous: not only does fluoride derived from toxic waste contain impurities such as lead and arsenic, but even at relatively small doses fluoride itself can cause cancer, osteoporosis, skeletal fluorosis, arthritis, and brain damage, among many other conditions. Here’s another thought: just for grins, if you’re ever in your grandparents’ basement, see if you can find an old container of rat poison. Check out the toxic ingredient—the killer. Yep, you guessed it, sodium fluoride. Happy brushing."
