Tuesday March 8th 2011 was the centenary of International Women's Day. To mark this anniversary, Notts TUC organised a public meeting at the offices of Thompsons Solicitors, to discuss the impact of the cuts on services for women, particularly domestic violence services.

Local anti-cuts campaigners rallied against this, holding protests on the previous Saturday and the day itself. Data shows 76% of Nottingham ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students will face new &/or much higher fees. What will happen if they cannot pay, & cannot speak English with their children, at work, or in the community?

Saturday  26th February was a busy day for anti-cuts campaigning in Nottingham city centre. Activists from Notts SOS were out collecting signatures for a petition against cuts by the city council and building for the rally next weekend.
