Tuesday 8 March 7pm

Friends Meeting House, 25 Clarendon Street, Nottingham, NG1 5JD

Places: nottingham nottinghamshire

Speakers include:

  • Hank Roberts – ATL Vice President and anti academies campaigner
  • Leila Galloway – parent of children at Tidemill Primary School in Deptford where parent campaigners successfully challenged their governing body to think again about becoming an academy
  • Liam Conway – NUT Nottinghamshire Division Joint Secretary
  • Andrea Oates – Broxtowe Anti Academies Alliance

The Anti Academies Alliance has been set up by parents, teachers and governors who believe in a fair and comprehensive education for all and a good local school for every child. We believe that the Academies Act, which paves the way for new academy schools, is an attempt to destroy a democratic, planned, state education system and replace it with a two tier, market driven collection of independent schools.  For more information see www.antiacademies.org.uk; email Broxtowe@antiacademies.org.uk
