This might be something of an overstatement, but it is significant that police in Derbyshire think they have a right to private data held by Google without a court order (which they would presumably get with little difficulty).
It is good to see Google standing up to the police, although nobody should assume they'll always do this, nor that the search giant can be trusted with your private data.
