: 100 writers protest library cutbacks

The letter was sent on Monday 25 October and was signed by 100 writers from the East Midlands.
The County Council is proposing opening almost half of its 60 libraries for just eight to ten hours a week. They are also threatening to cut the amount spent on new books to just £400,000 from £1.6m.
