In the last few years a number of activists/idealists have effectively ‘taken over’ the day to day running of various groups and activities at the forest fields social club, AKA Sumac Centre, a very well established hub of community, grass routes organizing with links around the country to long and well fought campaigns, including climate camps and animal lib projects, vegan campaigns, etc.

Recently the greek state raided an anarchist squat in Thessaloniki and beat up and dragged away the residents, one of which was a comrade who until recently had been supporting greek prisoner solidarity in Nottingham. A dispersal Order issued under the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003, is in force in the Forest Fields area of Nottingham.

This letter will be hard for many men to read. However, as it arose due to specific experiences in the activist scene in Nottingham we post it here in the hope that it will provoke critical reflection among those who need it.
