Already the Government and the media are working hard to stir up jingoistic and militaristic sentiments on the occasion of the hundredth aaniversary of the start of World War One. On Tuesday, 31st December Nottingham CND is demonstrating to combat this reactionary warmongering.  We will be demonstrating under the slogan 'Don't Glorify War!' in front of the Council House from noon onwards.  There will be banners, placards, leaflets and badges.

In the twenty-first century the politicians have led this country into two disastrous, imperialist wars; Iraq and Afghanistan.  They will be using the World War One commemoration to parade British troops through the streets, trying to make out they have scored a great victory when in fact they brought death and destruction to the people of those countries.

Come along, tell other people and bring your friends.
