It is clear that NATO’s murderous war against the Afghani people is failing to suppress popular resistance to this foreign invasion. The more troops that Obama and Cameron send to Afghanistan, the more of them that come back in boxes. British soldiers know that their mission is futile and that their lives are unnecessarily being sacrificed.
Meanwhile the Government and media are waging a propaganda campaign presenting the returning troops as "heroes". This is a desperate attempt to gain public support for the war. In fact the majority of people in Britain are against the war and want British forces withdrawn. It is necessary for us to go to the troops to tell them that what they are doing is wrong and that they should refuse to fight this unjust, criminal war.
Chetwynd Barracks on Swiney Way, Chilwell, Nottingham is where most British troops going to Afghanistan are mustered. Here we can reach out to the troops and encourage their dissent.
Come to the picket at the Main Entrance and bring banners, placards, etc.
