Places:
Following the national Stop G8 meeting in Birmingham September 22nd, this will be a meeting to begin organising local co-ordination for the anti-G8 mobilization. The meeting will be following and feeding into the Stop G8 process, and as such will use the PGA hallmarks as it's starting point..
1. A very clear rejection of capitalism, imperialism and feudalism, all trade agreements, instiituitions and goverments that promote destructive globalisation.
2. We reject all forms and systems of domination and discrimination including, but not limited to, patriachy, racism and religous fundamentalism of all creeds.
We embrace the full dignity of human beings.
3. A confrontational attitude, since we do not think that lobbying can have a major impact in such biased and undemocratic organizations, in which transnational capital is the only real policy maker.
4. A call to direct action and civil disobedience, support for social movements struggles, advocating forms of resistance which maximize respect for life and oppressed peoples rights, as well as the construction of local alternatives to global capitalism.
5. An organisational philosophy based on decentralisation and autonomy,
The meeting will be structured and facilitated.
A small portion of time given to feeding back from the meeting in Birmingham. And then evenly split between local mobilzaing and how best to support the broader mobilization.
This meeting will not be a space to talk about the atrocities carroed out by or in the name of the G8 or/and capitalism, we feel that other spaces will be needed for that duriing the coming months.
Cops, facsits and journalists are asked to stay away.,
Why is this meeting happening?
In 2013 the UK is once again host to the G8 Summit for the first time since 2005, eight world leaders from the most powerful capitalist nations are meeting here on our home turf.
The G8 facilitates irresponsible greed, corporate protectionism, overwhelming inequality and ruthless exploitation. It is here, at the G8 summit, that the economic, political and military objectives for the year ahead will be discussed and agreed.
The G8 summit allows these self-appointed leaders of capitalism to assert their control of natural resources, no matter what the cost to people and the environment.
We believe there is an urgent need to take action against the G8. Our fight against austerity, inequality and exploitation must be fought on all fronts but the resistance must start here, at the top, where the big decisions are taken and the key allegiances are formed. They must not be permitted to meet here unimpeded, and must be made to understand that wherever they meet, wherever they go, they will be opposed and resisted.
WE ARE MANY, THEY ARE FEW. AND WE ARE EVERYWHERE.

Next meeting
I hear that another meeting has been called for Monday 29th October at 7pm at The Nottingham Mechanics, 3 North Sherwood Street, Nottingham NG1 4EZ.
