Lajee Center (from Aida Refugee Camp) in association with Nottingham Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Jenin Friendship Group presents an evening of dance, music, film and art by young Palestinian refugees.
This one-night-only event of the Lajee Center’s UK Arts & Cultural Tour which includes events from Aberdeen to London. Lajee is bringing its unique blend of Dabka (traditional Palestinian folk dance), along with award-winning films and photography exhibitions produced by child and youth artists within the Lajee Arts & Media Unit to Nottingham.
Laje’s Dabka Troupe has toured the UK twice before, in 2008 and 2010, and also performed internationally in Belgium, Egypt and Syria. The photography and film produced by children and youth within Lajee Arts & Media unit has won national and international awards, and photography exhibitions have been held in 9 countries across 4 continents.
