A recent expose of the English Defence League by Hope not Hate features a photo of James Clarke, described as Nottingham EDL Organiser, posing with a weapon. The article shows no fewer than 15 EDL members all posing with firearms, including Joel Titus, the EDL's Youth Leader. The far right have always loved guns and posing like hardmen but in the wake of the Norway massacre this takes on a more chilling aspect (not least because there were links between Anders Behring Breivik and the EDL).

After the Norway massacre, EDL leader Stephen Lennon (AKA Tommy Robinson) warned that the UK was only 5 years away from a similar massacre here. For a group that has always claimed to be against violent extremism the EDL is finding its own links to violent far right terrorism harder and harder to hide. The British state has decided to monitor them with the counter terror unit.

Much thought I dislike the agenda of Hope not Hate/Searchlight, which seems to be to strengthen state power against anti-state groups of the right and left (just witness their lobbying which resulted in a ban on ALL marches in 5 London boroughs for a month), they've done some good research here and it's worth checking out. We need to root out these Rambo wannabes and show them in no uncertain terms that their fascist ideology will be defeated.

The far right have always been cowards. Thats why their politics are so extreme.

Put any of these fools into action against a competent foe and you'll see an awful lot of crying, begging for mercy and offers to surrender. Ive been up against these inbreds on a number of occasions in the past and come to realise that the weapons are shorthand for an inability to stand on their own two feet. I know this because ive been involved in beating the living daylights out of their european counterparts. Aint met a single one that didn't try to run a mile at the first sign of trouble.

These are the 'ave a go' heroes that you see in the papers that tried to dish out some rough justice to teenagers on the street, only to get beaten to a pulp by 15 year olds.

After the recent riots, the EDL were nowhere to be seen, then when the police got what they wanted and redeployed in numbers, only then did the EDl come back out onto the streets.

Cowards to a man, to a woman.

The real freaks, are those who try to claim they are fascists. They are not fascists because fascists have a political ideology. They are also quite hard.

The EDL people are just street scum.

What's the RAF stuff in the background of the main pic? It looks like rather than doing secret training to be the next Timothy McVeigh this chump's just gone to one of those military recruitment fairs and posed with a replica weapon. He's probably just playing at being a soldier, pretending to shoot muslamics in the Market Square. What a loser!
