BBC Nottingham, London road, Nottingham
Many BBC journalist from the NUJ and technicians from BECTU walked out for a 12 hour strike today. The action is part of their ongoing campaigns on pay, pensions, continuing job cuts, workload and bullying issues. Output was affected on local and national stations both radio and television, much being replaced by recorded content.

ASLEF members were picketing outside Nottingham Train Station this morning.
This is the 5th one day strike in support of the ASLEF [Associated Society of Locomotive Steam Enginemen and Firemen] action against East Midlands Trains, a Stagecoach company.

At around miday and later at 4pm, teachers and supporters gathered in the Market Square to protest at Nottingham City Council plan for a 5 term Year.
The NUT says, the first of what may be a series of strikes attracted strong support from members. Almost all the schools involved in the strike were completely or partially closed.

On Thursday 23rd February, Nottinghamshire County Council met to debate and vote on its budget for 2012-13. Following from previous years, this will see millions slashed from the budget and further job cuts.
The council meeting began at 10am, while the protest kicked-off at 12.30pm.

On June 30th members of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL), National Union of Teachers (NUT), Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) and University and Colleges Union (UCU) went on strike in defence of their pensions. There were picket lines across Nottinghamshire and a sizeable march along Mansfield Road.
