Council serve notice on Occupy Nottingham

A week ago, the council served a notice on the Occupy Nottingham camp, that unless they move by the 5th March, council will start proceedings.  The camp says it wont be moving.

Occupy Nottingham to receive eviction notice

Occupy Nottingham say they will receive an eviction notice from the City Council today, requiring them to leave within 7 days.

Nottingham Post: No plans to evict occupation. Yet.

According to the Post (so it must be true) the council "says it has no plans to try to evict protesters camping in Old Market Square." But they "would prefer that the city centre was not used for encampments and feel that they cannot remain there indefinitely."

The JB Spray squat in Radford were expecting eviction this morning. Two County Court employees and two police turned up at around 10am along with around 20 supporters of the squatters. The occupiers of the JB Spray have sent out a message saying they expect bailiffs to turn up around 10am tomorrow (Wednesday 25th) to evict the squat. They are calling out for supporters to come and help them resist eviction from their home.
