Nottingham folks gatherered at the Left Lion and proceeded to the HSBC bank in Clumber Street. The protestors being concerned, as banker's continue to be rewarded with bonuses and subsidies, and tax dodging is rife (£25 billion is lost annually), there’s been a 170% increase in the number of people relying on food banks in the UK. We need to demand that the government stop propping up the people who caused this crisis and put an end to the need for food banks.

Meeting up at Starbucks on South Parade, Just south of the Market Square, Nottingham

People gathered, handed out leaflets and the Notts uncut banner displayed. The issue being further aired by the media these last few weeks, was about the lack of tax being collected by the large corporations ..... set against the cuts in services applied to so many of the poorest in society.

Criminalisation of protest in Nottingham

On Saturday December 17th, Notts Uncut participated in the UK Uncut “Christmas Special,” visiting the usual tax dodging companies. Notts Police took an unusually confrontational attitude asking for people’s details, imposing conditions on the protest. Once person was arrested after she asked for clarification of the instructions, while another was arrested after remonstrating with the police about the initial arrest. A third arrest took place that evening for allegedly refusing to leave Bridewell Police Station where supporters were waiting for the arrestees.
