N30 critical mass and free space

As well as the main pickets and march yesterday, a critical mass was organised to shut down the city. A group of 25 cyclists cycled (at extremely slow pace) around the city centre for a few hours after the march had finished, spreading the word about the strike and the fight against government cuts everywhere we went. There was a huge amount of public support for our message.

UPDATE: The space has been evicted but will continue at the Sumac Centre.

An occupied autonomous space has been opened in Nottingham. The free space, at the former Conservative Social Club on Church Street in Lenton, is intended as a space to plan and discuss ways of supporting the strike on November 30th, as well as the wider anti-cuts campaign and other movements for radical social change.

Things are looking good for the free space. We’ve managed to get together a provisional programme of workshops and films that will be taking place (see below). There are still plenty of gaps and we'd like more people to come forward and use the space. We are also looking for people to help with cooking meals and staying in the space overnight.
